Opened in 1988, the Museum of Art is a collection of Toulon constantly enriched, ranging from the fifteenth to the early twentieth century, specifically specializing in Provence Art. Much of the collection consists of the Provencal landscape of the 1850s (Guigou, Aiguier, Courdouan, Ziem ...), the Fauves of Provence (Camoin, Chabaud, Verdilhan ...), and the symbols are not forgotten. Initiated in 1978, a department of contemporary art which is very rich fund includes movements and signatures of the most prestigious: the new realism (Armand, César, Christo, Klein, Raysse ...), Minimal Art (Judd, Sol LeWitt ...) Support-Surface (Cane, Dezeuze, Viallat ...), alongside other constituencies (Arnal, Chacaliss, Telemaque, Buren, Ben ...) and a large collection of photographs (Cartier-Bresson, ... Falcon).
