34470 PÉROLS
The town was settled long ago by the Greeks. It is also said that St. Sixtus, Pope Greek, was then Christianized. That is why his portrait is in the old coat of arms Pérols.
In 1865, we began to rebuild the church and expand. But because of the war of 1870 and the wine crisis, the steeple was not launched as planned. Its construction was then stopped and replaced by a tiled roof with four slopes.
After the Second World War, after the return of prisoners, 17 July 1946, a statue of the Virgin, reinforced concrete was hoisted at the height of the tower, a token of recognition of a population towards the benevolent protection of the Virgin during the bombing of the airfield. This statue was renovated in 1985 and Bishop Boffet, then Bishop of Montpellier, proceeded with his blessing.
