Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Haut

World famous, with its curved shape, chapels, towers, her veil of concrete as a roof, its play of light and color, the Notre-Dame-du-Haut was built by
the architect Le Corbusier in 1955.

Built entirely of concrete, the chapel impressed by the purity of its plastic curvilinear forms. Inside, one is struck by the spatial effect suggested by the lightness of the concrete shell and the softness of a light treated chiaroscuro. The three chapels, corresponding to the three outer towers, are participating in the soft play of light filtering through the many days of the inclined walls.
