Villa Rose is quite simply idyllic. We have just had a wonderful summer holiday at this beautiful villa – we knew that it would be 5* as we have previously stayed at the other Uzès property (smaller but equally amazing)
There is no expense spared at making this holiday home one in which luxury and comfort are paramount. Two washing machines and driers! – almost makes doing the laundry an activity worth looking forward to.
Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen (the inside one and the outside also). Ice for your gin and tonic available at the touch of a button. Most items provided – we wished we’d realised before visiting the supermarket! We passed the first few days of our holiday working out how to get back home (due to train strikes) and had to book new flights – the internet worked well and the printer also for boarding passes. This reduced anxiety levels substantially! And to recover from the stress of all that – there is a gym in which to work out (if that’s your thing). I had gone out to France with a back problem and made good use of the yoga mats on which to exercise.
In 39 degree heat, the interior stayed cool, helped by the high ceiling in the vast living area. The remote-controlled shutters did a fantastic job of keeping out the scorching heat.
There is plenty of room for members of a large family to actually escape from one another in the extensive grounds, large swimming pool, boules pitch and trampoline as well as all the interior space. Bedrooms are spacious with plenty of storage. Bathrooms are top notch with bathrobes, slippers and toiletries provided.
We spent a week here and hardly left the place. The only disappointment was that it was too hot to try out all the bikes which had been provided – enough for everyone in the family.
Uzès itself is very busy and all the barred streets were a bit of a nightmare but realistically you can walk into the town centre from Villa Rose. It took 20 minutes for most of us, 30 for myself (with the bad back). Restaurants do need to be booked in advance in August.
This is a stunning part of France. I can wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Villa Rose.
