Maison Cap Lihou is located in the historic district of the upper town, about 80 km from Mont-Saint-Michel, 1 hour by ferry from the Chausey Islands archipelago and 5 min walk from all amenities.
The site is classified, small streets, ramparts, sea views and calm assured.
The Monaco of the North, as some like to call it, is also a city of art. There are many galleries as well as the Richard Anacreon museum and the Christian Dior museum.
In February, Granville also hosts its carnival, one of the oldest in France.
At this time of year the low tides allow great walks.
Music lovers will not be left out either, many festivals and concerts flourish in the upper town (Festival "Mission on the Roc", organ concerts and Baroque music)
The Notre-Dame du Cap Lihou cathedral regularly hosts many concerts.
In summer for swimming, the Granville casino and its beach (Plat Gousset beach) are also a 15-minute walk from the house.
The small North beach is behind the house, a 5-minute walk away, accessible by following the path of the ramparts to a stone staircase that descends there.
For lovers of the sea and old rigs, the village of MARITE, the last 3-masted French Newfoundland, welcomes you and takes you for a ride in the bay of Mont Saint Michel or in the archipelago of the Chausey islands.
If you prefer stronger sailing sensations, you can also embark on the GRANVILLAISE, it is a Bisquine, much smaller than the MARITE, a former sailing fishing boat, symbol of the city, once used by fishermen to dredge the famous shells of the bay.
La GRANVILLAISE can also take you for a walk in the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel or in the archipelago of the Chausey islands.
Finally, to conclude, I can't resist the urge to tell you about the tides.
They are important and vary according to their coefficients.
At low tide, when the coefficient is high, the sea recedes for several kilometres, so amateur fishermen have a field day and fill their wallets with all kinds of shellfish.
At high tide, when the wind is blowing and the coefficient is high, the sea rages along the promenade of the gusset plate, hits the dike causing huge sprays of water that can climb up to the windows of the thalasso. It's a wonderful sight.

This house is an old family home. She wears her years with pride but she is not perfect. I renovate it over time.
It's a house dear to my heart, rich in all the memories of my childhood.
Take care and enjoy...
