La Ferme - Cours du Fleuve, location de gîtes tout confort

La Ferme is the original house on the property and is a traditional Périgourdine type house. Although the original features (wooden beams, stone walls), have been retained, the property has been renovated and combines the comfort of modernism with the charm of the traditional. La Ferme is in a different space to the other 3 gites and is a bit more private, whilst also benefiting from the use of the swimming pool and gardens. This property can accommodate 3/4 people

The accommodation includes:
- the fully equipped kitchen. There are many cupboards, a good work plan and all the necessary utensils to satisfy the Chef and his guests!
- the dining room for six people with plenty of storage space
- the living room composed of a sofa and two armchairs placed around a coffee table. For your entertainment: a flat screen TV offers French TNT channels as well as free English SKY channels (freeview), a DVD player.
- the hall giving access to the living room/kitchen/dining room as well as to the staircase leading to the sleeping area
- shower room on the ground floor with 2 sinks, shower, toilet

Upstairs :
- bedroom 1 - Facing East, this bedroom gives a very nice view of the Dordogne. Its traditional Périgourdin roof structure is one of the main features. Storage space in the form of a built-in cupboard as well as 2 chests of drawers.
- bedroom 2 - for 2 children under 10 or 1 teenager or 1 adult. Twin beds. Storage space (wardrobe) as well as a chest of drawers.

Cours du Fleuve is located in the countryside of the small village of Calès, overlooking the banks of the Dordogne.
On the other side of the river is Trémolat, a small typical French village full of charm. One can stroll through the village enjoying the peace and quiet of the old local church of St Nicholas, or simply watch the world go by sitting in the cafe in the square.
Nearby is the famous "Cingle de Trémolat", a bend in the river offering magnificent panoramic views over the Dordogne valley.
The medieval town of Lalinde (14 km), with its small lake ideal for picnics as well as its bustling Thursday market which is also worth a visit.
Sarlat (44 km), its bustling narrow streets and medieval buildings steeped in culture and history, is a must visit for everyone.

The region has the world famous Bergerac appellation wine region which covers 12,700 hectares. Wine has been produced in the region for over 400 years. Wine lovers will find grapes similar to those in the Bordeaux region, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec reds; Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadet whites. Many vineyards welcome visitors and offer tastings. The official “wine route” traces a map of the region's vineyards. The Dordogne is the supplier of nearly half of France's fine produce, including truffles, porcini mushrooms and foie gras.

The nearest market towns are Le Bugue on the Vézère to the east and Lalinde on the Dordogne to the west.
The Vézère river joins the Dordogne in the charming village of Limeuil a few minutes drive from Trémolat.
Between the Vézère and Dordogne rivers (the "golden triangle") is a veritable treasure trove of prehistoric sites, beautiful caves, for example those of Lascaux with cave paintings, the Gouffre de Proumeyssac with stalactites, an underground cavern of forty meters high.

There is so much to see and do in the area that it's almost impossible to know where to start.
There are prehistoric sites, troglodyte villages, bastides such as Monpazier, Belvès and Villereal.
Périgueux and Bergerac are easily accessible by car.

There are many castles to visit.
Monbazillac, Castelnaud, Biron and so many others.

During the summer, there are countless local festivals, traveling shows, night markets and popular balls.
