This 18th century farm where we welcome you was, over time, used as a painting workshop and a place for artistic meetings and exhibitions. It is this atmosphere that we have chosen to preserve.

In this green setting between two arms of the Loire, it is with a concern for ecology that we provide free non-polluting sanitary and hygiene products. The plant environment of the house is preserved in a wild garden.

The ground floor, accessible by 4 steps, consists of a fully fitted kitchen of 30 m² and a bright living room (30 m² east/south-east) lit by 3 large windows.
Upstairs: 2 bedrooms of 15 m2 which can accommodate 4 people (+ a baby), bathroom, separate WC. The “blue room” offers a “king size” mattress (180x200), the “green room”: 2 beds. We offer "umbrella" beds for the little ones. In spring opening of the 3rd bedroom (2 people)

From the "Painter's House" activities are accessible on foot or by bike. The town of Chalonnes is a few minutes away: you will find 2 local markets (Tuesday and Saturday), a biocoop, a cinema, shops, 2 supermarkets, a swimming pool, sports halls etc... As well as several quality restaurants . You can go to Angers by the TER (18 mins) or by road (allow between 20 and 30 mins). Castle, museum, parks. Opening of the Canoe Kayak base from the first days of April.

You leave the town of Chalonnes (towards St Georges and Angers) via the pretty bridge and you arrive on the Island. In the middle of the island between the collective gardens and the fields of medicinal plants you will take the second road on the left. It is indicated "La Basse île, 4 km", the painter's house is the 4th house on the right. You will easily recognize it with its large yellow ocher gable and its pyre: stone construction typical of this region.
