Located in Fontenay-Saint-Père, a village in the regional natural park of French Vexin less than an hour from Paris, we welcome you to our cottage with garden "La petite vallée", renovated with heart while retaining the charm of the old.
The gîte, adjoining our house, has an independent entrance, with, on the ground floor, a living room paved with Vexin stones and a kitchen whose period materials have been preserved.
On the first floor, a landing leads to 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 1 separate WC
- the first bedroom offers a large bed (180x190 cm), which can be converted into two separate beds
- the second bedroom has 3 beds thanks to the trundle bunk bed
Additional beds are possible thanks to the sofa beds on the ground floor.
Fontenay-Saint-Père is renowned for being a pretty little village with its listed 11th century church as well as its many washhouses and fountains.
We offer bicycles to discover this heritage and explore the surrounding paths and forests.
Cultural activities :
- Mantes-la-Jolie (10 min): the Gothic Notre-Dame collegiate church is the masterpiece of the Mantois region where, according to legend, the heart of Philippe Auguste was laid
- Giverny (25 min): cultural and international tourist hotspot. The heart of the Impressionist movement. Discover Claude Monet's house and its garden with its timeless charm, which inspired the painter. Continue through the Museum of Impressionists just opposite.
- La Roche-Guyon (20 min): its millennial castle: from medieval times to Rommel's headquarters in 1944. Its garden, its stables, its panoramic tower over the loops of the Seine.
- Villarceaux (15 min): its 800 ha estate with its ponds, its parks and its 2 castles (12th and 18th centuries)
Sporting activities :
- walk in the forest: Fontenay-Saint-Père is surrounded by woods suitable for walking or cycling
- GR2 and GR11: these 2 GR cross our village on the themes of washhouses. Signposted routes.
- Aventure Land: tree climbing and games park for children. Magny-en-Vexin 15 minutes away
- horse riding :
* La Manade de Quère - horse riding in the Vexin (experienced riders)
* The Montcient stables - horse riding lessons and walks
- canoe:
* canoseine in Vétheuil (10 min)
* canoeing down the Eure
- Golf:
* Domain of Villarceaux (15 min) – 18 holes
* Domaine du Prieuré in Sailly (4 min) – 36 holes on 2 courses

"Très agréable."
Nou avons passé quelques semaines dans cet agréable gîte. Très bon accueil de la part des propriétaires simple et convivial. Maison de caractère dans un très beau village du Vexin français. Séjour reposant et calme. Je recommande ce gîte et c'est avec plaisir que j'y retournerai.

"Havre de paix à 1h de Paris"
Stéphane et son épouse nous ont adorablement accueillis ! Une ancienne grange rénovée avec simplicité, confort et goût. Nous avons adoré cette pause de verdure à côté de Paris, et espérons revenir bientôt !

"Week-end en famille"
Venus des Hauts de France, nous avons passé 2 jours très agréables dans le Vexin. Nous avons trouvé un gîte aussi authentique que la région, un régal pour les yeux (belle déco et beaux meubles) ainsi qu'un accueil des plus chaleureux avec les explications du" vécu du gîte ", nous nous sommes sentis chez nous. Beau jardin sentant bon le chèvrefeuille et accueil très sympathique autant au téléphone qu'en face à face. Notre hôte était très disponible et facile à joindre. Je recommande très vivement😘

"Très agréable week-end !"
Nous sommes trois amies parisiennes qui avions besoin de repos et de nature sans faire trop de route. Nous sommes revenues de notre week-end à Fontenay-St Père ravies et détendues ! La maison est jolie, très propre et confortable. Nous avons surtout occupé le grand et beau jardin aménagé par Candide et Stéphane qui ont été des hôtes très chaleureux et de bon conseil si vous souhaitez visiter le Vexin.

Très bon accueil. Gite propre. Lieu au top. Nous étions en motos et avons pu garer les motos dans la cour. Accueil très sympathique avec en sus un plat avec des cakes excellent. Je recommande.

"Charme authentique et confort"
Une parenthèse charmante dans ce lieu rénover avec tout le confort mais en gardant l esprit authentique du lieu. On se retrouve comme chez dans une maison de famille a la campagne. Sérénité et calme et des hôtes charmants. Proche de tout et à la fois reposant et calme. A découvrir sans hésiter
