A typical inn with its original beams and brick-red flagstones, antique furniture and ornamentation from local bric-à-brac sales, not forgetting its shady, secluded terrace. This former coach house has preserved its yesteryear charm, making for an ideal place to wind down. The place is as warm and welcoming as the owners, who immediately make you feel at home. The chef loves cooking with local, seasonal produce.
We are among three villages in Berry to have conserved our 12th-century church, Saint Barthélémy, complete with its caquetoir or "chattering gallery. The Sauldre canal is a haven for flora and fauna, with 150km of hiking routes through the woods linking Clémont to Lamotte Beuvron. Close to the vineyard route, 50km from Sancerre and Menetou Salon, check out the art of wine-growing and taste their great wines with hot goat's cheese on toast. There are many châteaux to be visited within an 80km perimeter (Chambord, Chenonceau, Blois and Villandry). There are also many smaller châteaux like the Chapelle D?Angillon and the château de Blancafort where you can discover the world of fragrances.
