Housed since 1920 in the Old Butcher (1587), its mission is to evoke the history of the urban environment and the political, economic and social models Strasbourg by the plan - relief from 1725 to 1727 (the city is reproduced in 1/600th) of a set of paintings, drawings, engravings and lithographs, a collection of military objects (weapons and uniforms from 1500 to 1945), a variety of objects from corporate masterpiece memories of great men, such as General Kléber, or private citizens (costumes, furniture, etc.). and archaeological collections from the Middle Ages to the eighteenth century. The first stage of work, completed in June 2007, allows the public to present the history of Strasbourg from the Middle Ages to the eighteenth century.
