Musée de la Mine

Desired by the miners as a place of living memory of a community, the museum opened in 1983. Housed in the former headquarters of Collieries, he proposes, through staging and testimony, the many aspects of daily life in a small town at the time of the coal substance, the tools, jigsaw crust, the tragedies, but also recreation, sports and musical societies, housing, social conflicts. This presentation is complemented by a visit to the "mine-image," particularly realistic reconstruction of a gallery-type to evolve techniques woodwork, whose animation is most often carried out by former miners .
