Musée de La Faïence

The Museum of Earthenware of Moustiers was established in 1929 at the initiative of Marcel Provence and a group of enthusiasts and history of ceramics, forming the Academy of Moustiers. The manufacture of ceramics held an important place in Moustiers, the potters were numerous in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The secret of porcelain tin was given to Pierre Clérissy by an Italian monk staying at the convent of the Servants of Moustiers in 1668.
