The Museum brings together collections from sites excavated mainly in the territory of the Alta Rocca (the "piaghja" in the mountains). The exhibits suggest, in chronological order, the cultures that succeeded in the micro-region from the beginning (eighth millennium BC) to medieval (sixteenth century AD). One can discover the unique pre-Neolithic human remains in perfect condition ("the lady of the Araguina") dated 6570 BC and the skeleton of an animal species now extinct (the Prolagus or "rabbit- rat ").
