The Departmental Museum of the Resistance and Deportation was created by veterans and guerrillas in the walls of the former prison of Nantua from the mid-nineteenth century. It includes a collection of about six thousand pieces presented in chronological order: the rise of Nazism, the Occupation, Resistance and "maquis de l'Ain", the Deportation. A screening room can watch a video film entitled Local time Ain in turmoil.
