Founded in the late nineteenth century by Joseph Aubenas who became mayor of Frejus, the museum has a rich collection of archaeological finds mostly Gallo-Roman. Recently attached to the Heritage Service, it presents a new museum, works of exception: a marble head of Jupiter, the mosaic of the Leopard and above a two-headed Hermes, symbol of the city. Exhibit showcases glassware, ceramics and metal, witness the daily life of ancient people of Frejus.
