Guéry Lake is a mountain lake of volcanic origin located in the Massif des Monts Dore (Massif Central). This is the highest lakes in Auvergne.

Located at an altitude of 1244 m, this lake of 25 ha is due to a lava flow that blocked the course of a stream coming from the Puy Gros. It is shaped almost perfectly oval, shallow, since its maximum depth is 16 m.

Completely frozen in winter, it can start to fish early March, by digging a hole in the ice. The practice of this technique is unique in France. To get the ice must be at least 15 cm thick in order to venture safely. The fishing is open from early March to 15 November. One can fish for rainbow trout in the sky, the brown trout, salmon trout, char, perch, pike and carp.
