13570 BARBENTANE
It was built in 1133 and was the stately home of William Barbentane, direct ancestor of the Marquis de Barbentane. William of Barbentane was one of the vassals of the bishop of Avignon, his lord appointed by the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa. Arcades and pilasters of the first floor of the 16th century have been recently and carefully restored. The north wing to the right of the hexagonal tower, was fitted and used from 1670 to 1888 as the Town House.
The house of the Knights has been classified a historical monument since 1929.
