Château de Sedan

Built around 1424, the castle of Sedan is the largest castle in Europe from the Middle Ages with its 35 000 m² in area 7 levels. With its strategic position on the eastern frontier of France, he was constantly expanded, strengthened and modernized by the powerful La Marck, dukes of Bouillon and Sovereign Princes of Sedan. Remarkably conserved, their achievements are still in place today and testify in a masterly way the evolution of military architecture from the fifteenth century and the Second Empire.
