Murol Castle is located in a French chateau Murol, in the Puy de Dome in Auvergne.
The first castle seems to have been built in the twelfth century on a promontory of basalt, at the intersection of three roads. It was enlarged and strengthened in the fourteenth century by Guillaume Sam, including the construction of the tower and a second chapel.
In the fifteenth century, the castle became the property of the family d'Estaing after the marriage of Joan of Murol with Gaspard d'Estaing. Their descendant Francis d'Estaing installs artillery in the sixteenth century, Renaissance-style buildings are constructed on the east side.
Richelieu saving the castle because of the prestige of the family d'Estaing, and it is not destroyed during the French Revolution. However, it then serves as a prison, den of thieves and stone quarry. Following a donation from the owner, it becomes property of the municipality of Murol the nineteenth century.
The castle is classified a historical monument in 1958.
The troupe's companions Gabriel anima site for many years, and the estate was taken over by Palladin Sancy.
