70100 SAINT-BROING
A few miles east of Gray, the small village of Saint-Broing has on its common a castle which was originally an abbey.
Abbey Corneux received from the eleventh century the canons of the Premonstratensian order. It was not until the early eighteenth century that the monastery buildings were built: so you can see the dining room, kitchen, chapel, cloister, the grand staircase and part of the old abbey house. In 1791 the abbey was sold and became, after some work, a castle.
