The Château de Bagnolet was built in 1810 on the banks of the Charente in Cognac.
The name came from a natural spring and would indicate the existence of baths in ancient times.
In the "park" of Cognac that borders the Charente on its right bank and was royal property until the revolution, the family built Augier Bagnolet in 1810. Then a square central pavilion, flanked by two smaller pavilions, facing an English park, which slopes gently to the river.
Auguste Hennessy bought it in 1841, he added two wings and the winter garden.
