The chaos of Nîmes-le-Vieux is a site ruiniform located in the northeastern plateau Méjean in Lozère. It is accessible by the collar of Perjuret between Florac and Meyrueis.
Registered in central area of the Cevennes National Park, the chaos-le-Vieux Nîmes was christened in 1908 by its discoverer, Paul Arnal, pastor Vebron, by analogy with the chaos of Montpellier-le-Vieux, a similar site discovered 25 years earlier by the great geographer Édouard-Alfred Martel. In 1910, the journal published Causses and Cévennes also an article of the latter, on the site: "hamlets of Veygalier and Hom to the Borie of Galy and the Fountain of Aures, it develops the average altitude of 1100 m near 4 km in extent.
