Come and recharge your batteries at La Clairière, a typically Auvergne stone house, built in 1781 almost at the end of a small road which ends in the fields, at an altitude of 700 meters in the heart of the hilly landscapes of the Châtaigneraie Cantalienne, between Volcanoes d'Auvergne and the Lot Valley, less than 2 km from the town of Marcolès, a little medieval gem labeled "Petite Cité de Caractère®".
The accommodation occupies the west part of the house and an unusual room outside, the Châtaigner room, a small 18th century chestnut drying room renovated with an ecological spirit.
On the garden level of the house there is a large living room/kitchen with fireplace and a traditional bedroom and a bathroom and for more capacity or if the unusual bedroom is not suitable we provide a second large bedroom traditional ai 1st floor.
A 120 cm sofa bed is available in the living room and from April we can increase our capacity (or keep the same capacity but avoid opening the sofa) by accommodating two people in a small vintage Eriba caravan. 1970.
Marcolès is the ideal starting point for beautiful hikes in the surrounding area and visiting remarkable sites such as Conques, a UNESCO® heritage site (35 km away), Figeac (45 km away) or even Salers and Puy Mary..
We live on the east side of the first floor.
