Our 4 bedroom gite called La Charrue is the 3rd largest holiday home within The Domaine de Rochebonne.
The building dates back to the 1800s and is named after a 13th century plow which you will see featured hanging on the wall in the property.
The gite offers a large open plan living space with a kitchen, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
The cottage has its own private garden and patio with garden furniture and barbecue as well as direct access to the vast shared gardens and a large shared swimming pool.
The facilities include kiddies play area and wooden fort, sand pit, swings, badminton net and football area.
The whole property is walled and gated so that parents can relax while the children can run and play. The cottages are fully equipped with kitchens with dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, oven, cooker and everything you need to enjoy the local produce.
The living areas are equipped with comfortable seating and satellite TV. There is fast and reliable free wifi throughout the property. Within 10 minutes walk from your holiday accommodation you can find a restaurant, a bar, a boulangerie, a small grocery shop and post office all located on the village square in St Just- Luzac.

From the 1st of February 2021 all our rental prices include bed linen, bath towels and pool towels prepared by a professional Covid-19 compliant laundry service and the beds will be made for your arrival. High chair: 10.00 € Cot: 10.00 € Dog or cat: 10.00 € Extra person from 10 € (child or adult subject to approval by management ) End of stay clean: (50€ to 140€ depending on which rental) If you do not choose this option we kindly request that you leave the cottage clean and tidy and just as you found it upon arrival.
Cleaning equipment and cleaning products are provided.
A cleaning checklist will be provided upon your arrival. (Staff carry out the Covid-19 disinfection in each rental following a strict government issued checklist.)

8 kms from your holiday accommodation there is the impressive bridge over to the island of Oleron where there are a number of interesting towns such as the fortified town le Chateau d’Oleron, St Trojan les Bains, the port of La Cotiniere and amazing beaches.
15 to 20 kms away you can get to the seaside town of Royan with its beachfront promenades and a large selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Rochefort has plenty of historical monuments such as La Corderie royale, la place Colbert and the fully operational replica of the 1779 frigate L'hermione. In La Palmyre there is one of the biggest and best zoos in Europe with over 1800 species. There is also a number of amusement parks including Luna Park and go karting tracks
30 to 40kms away there is the town of La Rochelle which is loaded with history and charm and has numerous pedestrian streets with many shops, bars and restaurants, ancient fortifications and museums. In the opposite direction there is the historical town of Saintes with its romain ampitheathre, paleolithic site, Roman aqueduct, L'abbaye aux dames, St Pierre’s Cathedral and many bars, shops, and restaurants within its pedestrian streets.
To explore the region we do recommend having a car as the public transport in the immediate area in not very frequent. There is public transport by bus from St Just-Luzac which can take you to nearby towns including Rochefort, Royan, Saintes, Marennes and La Rochelle. In Rochefort, Royan, Saintes and La Rochelle there are mainline train stations where you can catch the local trains and the TGV. The closest international airports are La Rochelle which is 45 Minutes away and Bordeaux which is 1 hour away. The closest motorway exit is in Saintes which is 35 minutes away
