Welcome to my Thirteenth Century historic manor house in the heart of the Dordogne's Périgord Noir region of South-West France. offering the ideal combination of a tranquil rural location, yet with with a traditional friendly bar/restaurant just a two minute walk away, and the local village of Salignac Eyvigues only a short distance where you can find a boulengerie, excellent boucherie, supermarket, pharmacy and restaurants.
The gite retains many original features (e.g. exposed stone walls and beams) and historic charm.
Of course, all the modern comforts of home are also here, including British TV, wi-fi and air-conditioning - (which is perfect for the hot weather we are getting now!) There is also a beautiful lake just 20 minutes from the gite where you can swim and children can make sandcastles on the beach! Accommodation is on two floors, with landing, two bedrooms (1 large bed and 2 twin beds) and bathroom (wash basin, shower & toilet) on the first floor.

The gite is at the end of a road, so no passing traffic and very quiet. Opposite the gite is a thirteenth century church. Unlike many isolated gites, you don't have to take your car to have a meal in a restaurant as there is a friendly pub:restaurant just a 2 minute walk from the gite!
We are located mid-way between the medieval capital Sarlat and the world famous pre-historic caves of Lascaux in Montignac. The international centre of prehistory at Les Eyzies is within easy reach, as are both the Dordogne River and Vezere. The gite is also ideally located to visit Rocamadour in the Lot department, and Collonges-la-rouge in the Correze department.
The local village of Salignac Eyvigues is only a short distance where you can find a boulengerie, excellent boucherie, supermarket, pharmacy and restaurants.
Excellent base for discovering the Dordogne and Vézère valleys.

Genoten van ons verblijf in een prachtige gite. Alles was er aanwezig om volop van ons verblijf te genieten.
We hebben genoten van de rust en de stilte. Op wandelafstand (2 minuten) konden we lekker eten in de Black Duck. Omdat de gite centraal ligt, waren de bezienswaardigheden, en dat zijn er heel...

We had a lovely stay in the gite. It is really a very quiet en tranquil place. Diane is very helpful and living next door, she respects your privacy too. When you want to have a relaxation massage ask her to call Dean. He will come by with his massage table. Your choice in the room or outside on the...
