La Vitesnière is a beautifully restored former farmhouse that blends traditional charm with modern comfort.
Nestled in the heart of the Normandy Bocage, it offers a peaceful rural retreat with direct access to walking and cycling routes, yet it’s only a 4-minute drive from the bustling market town of Vire. This characterful stone-built gîte features a spacious living room with a wood-burning stove, a bright veranda, a comfortable bedroom, and a modern shower room—all conveniently located on the ground floor.
Beds are made on arrival, bathroom linen and utilities are included, so you can enjoy a stress-free start to your stay. In the summer months, guests can enjoy the heated outdoor pool, shared with just one other gîte on the property, which accommodates up to 4 people. The location is perfect for exploring the region: you’re just 1 hour and 15 minutes from Mont Saint Michel, 1 hour from the sandy beaches of Granville, and 40 minutes from Caen.
Close by, you’ll find Lac de la Dathée with its scenic golf course, and the Viaduc de la Souleuvre, offering bungee jumping, zip-lining, a giant swing, summer tobogganing, and treetop adventures. There are countless walking trails in the surrounding countryside, and the lively Vire market on Friday mornings is a local highlight.
With serene views over a pond and the neighbour’s grazing sheep, La Vitesnière is a truly relaxing place to unwind. The gîte is attached to the owners’ house and shares the property with a second gîte that sleeps 4 guests. Additional price info and offers: Heating costs -- Mainly in Winter months November to April We supply a rack of logs for wood burner which will last 3 nights, extra logs are charged at 25€ per rack The kindling is charged at what we buy at normally 5/6€ per sack at the brico or alternatively you may supply your own There is Electric heating in all bedrooms which if sensibly used we pay for but please use as if it is you paying the bill (responsibly) The Swimming pool is open May to October -- weather dependent The opening hours are 11 am until 8 pm
