Since his transfer in 1981 at the Ursuline Convent, the Museum Garret presents a unique set of paintings, sculptures and drawings by the academic artist Jean-Léon Gérôme, famous for its Orientalist paintings (Women in the bath) and his compositions often based on historical Ancient (Cave Canem) or biblical texts (Entry of Christ into Jerusalem). The archaeological and historical collections evoke the past from local sources (the prehistoric site of Baume-Black Fretigney the flint tools from the mining sites Etrelles ,...) in the modern era (views Vesoul and portraits of famous Vésuliens of the Revolution in the late nineteenth century).
