1 place de l'Evêché - 87000 LIMOGES
Tél : 05 55 45 98 10 Website
Founded in 1912, the Municipal Museum of the Diocese - Email Museum of Limoges is located at the foot of the cathedral, surrounded by terraced gardens overlooking the Vienne. It occupies the former episcopal palace built in the late eighteenth century by the brothers Brousseau, at the request of Bishop Plessis of Argentré. It is a granite building size, shape of a horseshoe, with two entrance pavilions and an orangery. The chapel has retained much of its interior decoration of eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The enamel is the flagship of its collections. More than 500 pieces illustrate the production of Limoges workshops of the twelfth century to the present and provide an overview of contemporary art worldwide.
