NEW YORK CITY
Broadway is a major north-south of the borough of Manhattan, the central district of New York. This is the only axis that extends from the south (Bowling Green) north of the island. Broadway is the only avenue in Manhattan that crosses the island diagonally and thus fails the grid plan that was established in 1881. As a result, it led to the construction of architectural curiosities like the Flatiron Building ("shaped building iron"). Avenue is the most visited Manhattan.
