Located in the heart of the beautiful Béarn region in the south-west of France, our gîtes have been converted into the barns of our Béarn farmhouse. The bustling little town of Monein is just two kilometers away and we are located in the heart of the Jurançon wine region. On three hectares of farmland, we are surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards, easily accessible by the myriad paths that reach the villages and hamlets beyond our back door.
With a private aspect, The Cottage has a separate lounge, dining room and kitchen, with 2 bedrooms (1 double and 2 single beds), a luxury bathroom and downstairs toilet . The private garden and patio is an ideal place to watch the sunset with a glass of Jurancon!
The gite had been equipped to comply with the three star standard and includes; - Kitchen - fully equipped with electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave and a wide variety of kitchen equipment and utensils.

The bedrooms have comfortable beds and fitted wardrobes for storage. The bathroom has a shower and WC and another WC can be found on the Ground Floor.
A table and chairs allow you to enjoy dining outside. An awning is available for hot days.
Cleaning materials are provided, eco-friendly wherever possible, a vacuum cleaner, clothes airer, iron and ironing board.
If you have young children, a children's pack including a cot and high chair is available, if required.

The magnificent Pyrenees mountain range is clearly visible from our property and several ski resorts, both French and Spanish and ideal for beginners and expert skiers, are within 1-2 hours drive. Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding and tobogganing can be found at or near our local resort of La Pierre St Martin. The fantastic scenery is ideal for outdoor activities in the warmer months too.
A wide variety of other outdoor activities can be found nearby. The hilly landscape attracts cyclists (the Tour de France passes nearby every year). Hikers will find a host of trails through the vine-covered hills, with fantastic views of the mountains, or into the mountains themselves. If you like fishing, the world salmon fishing championships take place every year around Navarrenx. The area has many streams full of trout and salmon, as well as several fishing lakes. The rivers are also ideal for rafting, canoeing, kayaking, canyoning and swimming - or take the opportunity to picnic while you try to spot dragonflies and kingfishers. Horse riding is available in Monein and elsewhere. The magnificent landscape, which forms the backdrop to all these activities, is a draw for photographers and artists. The region is rich in wildlife; watch out for birds, such as egrets, green woodpeckers, flycatchers, peregrine falcons and eagles.
The historic and picturesque towns of Monein (2 km), Navarrenx, Oloron, Orthez and Sauveterre de Béarn are nearby and the spa town of Salies de Béarn, famous for its salt, is worth a visit during your stay with us. All of them have many festivals throughout the year and restaurants where you can experience the local cuisine.
A day trip to the historic and picturesque town of Pau, just 25 minutes away is not to be missed. With a host of cultural, tourist, shopping, culinary and sporting possibilities, for all ages.
If you have children, there are several outdoor climbing activity centers, a water park, a municipal swimming pool, bowling, animal parks, mountain train rides and much more close to our lodges .
