To see in the surroundings: a large artificial lake and a medieval city
Everything is done to make you feel good from the first minutes in our accommodation. Please know that your beds are made upon your arrival and that bathroom linen is made available to you.
To save yourself the slightest effort and discover our regional delights, do not hesitate to request the delivery of a meal concocted and delivered by Nicole (starter, main course, cheese, dessert) 20 euros/person or the preparation of a picnic if you go hiking. Besides, you could start by exploring some of the 42 hamlets that make up the town of Vitrac in order to stretch your legs.
The surroundings are no less majestic, as evidenced for example by Marcolès, a magnificent medieval town nestled just 7 kilometers from Vitrac. A little far away, we can see Saint-Etienne-Cantalès, renowned for its superb artificial lake, its Himalayan footbridge more than 120 meters long and its beaches with supervised swimming during the summer season.
Hiking, golf and water sports in Cantal
Hiking is the essential activity for travelers in Auvergne. Take, for example, La Croix du Cayrou, a beautiful one-hour-and-a-half walk departing from the town hall square. Another route starting from the same place which requires half a day of walking: the devil's hole, allowing in particular to contemplate the splendid gourds shaped by the Rance river.
To keep you busy for a few hours, there are tennis courts a quarter of an hour's drive from our holiday home in Vitrac, in this case they are in Saint-Mamet-la-Salvetat. If you prefer the little white ball to the yellow ball, head to Sansac-de-Marmiesse where you will find the Haute-Auvergne golf course, an 18-hole course set in a sumptuous setting, protected by the mountains. For water sports enthusiasts, we suggest a stop at one of the bases of the Association Sportive de la Vallée du Lot (ASVOLT), located in Vieillevie, Entraygues and Grand Vabre. The various cultural activities (theater, concert, comedy, show for the youngest, etc.) scheduled in Vitrac and in the surrounding areas are also mentioned on the municipality's website.
