Gîte proche Salers et Puy Mary

In Mauriac in Cantal, between Puy Mary, the southernmost Auvergne volcano in the chain of puys and the Dordogne gorges, which meander from the Bort-les-Orgues dam to the Aigle dam in the middle of the beech and chestnut, oak and boxwood forests.

We offer à la carte accommodation (gîte or bed and breakfast) in an old independent renovated barn but close to our house, in an isolated, quiet hamlet and near the town center (5km from all the necessary shops in Mauriac, under -Prefecture of Cantal).

Whether for rest, in contact with unspoiled nature and farm animals, or for intense physical activities to discover this wild setting, gastronomy and the rural way of life or medieval architecture, you you will certainly find an unexpected richness and a change of scenery corresponding to your expectations.

Among the moments of relaxation, you can enjoy contemplative walks alone or accompanied by our two donkeys Pivoine and Tulipe and their shepherd Suki.

Passive fishing along the backwaters of the Dordogne or its tumultuous tributaries, swimming on the equipped beaches of the many lakes in the area.

For more dynamic activities, you will have the choice between more sporty hikes, possibly over several days with carrying donkeys and bivouac or aquatic hikes in the bed of small rivers or more sporty fishing in the torrents, access to climbing on equipped sites, introduction to gardening according to the seasons in our vegetable garden, preparation and sharing of our production.

You can add to this all the activities offered in the area:
- Visit farms, cheese factories, castles, picturesque villages
- Canyoning, Vélorail, barge trips on the Dordogne, the Gentiane Express train...
Hiking nearby - 3KM Dordogne gorges - 30 minutes Salers - 45 min Grand site of Puy-Mary - 15 min Lakes and nautical base (pedal boat) + swimming pool 5KM - Vélorail, climbing, Gabares...(about 20 minutes)

The cottage / Our rooms:
The hive is composed on the ground floor of a living room of around 35 m² + a small fully equipped and independent kitchen.
Upstairs are two bedrooms each with bathroom (toilet, shower, washbasin).
The first includes a double bed (160) + 1 cot and the second also a double bed (160) + 1 single bed (90)
If you like conviviality and the large family atmosphere, we offer the option (with supplement) of the possibility of 3 additional extra beds (1 folding extra bed in a bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living room).
You will also have a small corner of quiet garden with table, chairs and small barbecue behind the building.
