To find out more: Our two gîtes are North/South crossing. The walls are 80 cm thick, are made of solid traditional bricks called "briques foraines", it is a high inertia insulator. As everywhere in the south of France, in summer, the windows must be closed during the day and left wide open at night (where we are located, there is no problem with the safety of goods and people). It is the oldest air conditioning system, through air circulation. The roof on the balcony/terrace protects against direct rays. In addition, the trees and lianas planted along the walls serve as natural insulation. By being careful, we stay in very hot period in normal temperatures. In the main room, we have a very efficient colonial type ceiling fan and a column fan in the main bedroom.
Finally, tiger mosquitoes having appeared this summer, we are going to install removable mosquito nets.
The park is labeled Oasis Nature and refuge LPO (Bird Protection League): These labels indicate that most of the garden is maintained taking into account the preservation of biodiversity in all its forms: paths instead of lawns, lawns natural (orchids), free trees, hedges maintained regularly in size, fruit trees maintained for natural and unforced production. The "wild" side will allow you to discover the flora and fauna and even, with the presence of an adult for the children, to observe the life of the pond.
If you do not know the region, Violette will be happy to build itineraries with you.
- Very close: In the village (2 km) you will find the bakery every evening: sourdough bread, organic and local flour, cooked in a wood oven, real bread as in the past that can be preserved. - 2.5 km from the Canal du Midi and its cycle path
