'Les Hirondelles' consists of 2 adjoining gites each accommodating 2/3 people and is situated in the Lower Normandy countryside of La Vallée de La Sée, and surrounded by lush green hills. Ideally located for exploring this historic region - including the D-Day landing beaches, Mont Saint Michel, Avranches, Villedieu-les-Poeles (the famous copper factory), Granville, Domfront and Bayeux Tapestry and British War Cemetery.
Just across the border in Brittany, visit the beautiful port of Saint Malo with its ramparts, the medieval town of Dinan on the Rance river and Fougéres, with the largest medieval fortress in Europe.
'Les Hirondelles' is easily accessible from three ports - Saint Malo, Cherbourg and Caen - but also consider Dieppe 3 hours, 30 minutes) and Calais.
Your English hosts, Eileen and Mark live on site and are therefore immediately available with advice and assistance when needed.
The bedroom contains a large double bed and a single bed made up with good quality cotton bedding and towels are also provided. You will find a welcome basket provided on your arrival, consisting of tea, coffee, biscuits, milk and a couple of surprises! Two of our gites offer space for extra folding beds and each gite has a sofa bed downstairs if required. (Extra costs apply for extra bed linen and occupancy)
Each gite consists of a living room with comfortable chairs, dining table and chairs, wood stove, TV / DVD (with English Freeview channels), wifi, small well-equipped corner kitchen with gas stove and fridge. On the first floor, a bedroom with a king-size bed and a private shower room.

Shared UNHEATED swimming pool of 10 x 5 metres (July/ August) and secluded sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols. The chalet, which leads to the swimming pool, accommodates a DVD library, books and games and offers a seating area for guests and information about places to visit.
Large communal garden with table and chairs and pergola. There is also a small sitting area outside each gite with table and chairs and a bbq.

The area is great for walking and cycling with many marked trails and routes, kayaking and mountain climbing in the Suisse Normand region, about an hour away.
Beautiful beaches are 30-40 minutes away and the D day beaches are an hour and twenty minutes from here on good roads.
For small children there is a zoo and a theme park within a 30 minute drive, both highly recommended.
Nature lovers will enjoy the huge range of birds seen from the garden, including buzzards and herons, hunting birds.
There are many beautiful gardens to visit in our area, including the Parc du Chateau de Balleroy, nr Bayeux, the Parc Floral de Haute Bretagne near Rennes and the Jardin de Montmarin with its park that extends to the banks of the river Rance, not far from Saint Malo.
