The Fishing Museum was founded in 1961 with an idea of an artist and a team of scholars who met the first elements of an exhibition devoted to fishing. The spirit of the Museum: The maritime traditions. Located in an exceptional setting of the walls of the walled town, the museum traces the history of 1500 m2 of fisheries around the world through dioramas, models, fishing gear, aquariums and trawler afloat. Thus it is virtually alone in the world with its 100,000 annual visitors.
